Hans-Peter Metzler

Founder & Chairman

Hans-Peter Metzler founded Photeon in 2000 and is now leading the company to the next levels of growth. Prior to that, he founded NewLogic and has grown the company according to Gartner to the nr 1 silicon IP provider for Bluetooth and WLAN in the world. NewLogic has been acquired by Wipro, the Indian IT giant by end of 2005. Hans-Peter has more than 20 years of international experience in R&D, product development and the information technology industry. He has held various management positions in different organizations, also serving as Vice President of the Microcontroller Division at Siemens Semiconductor Group. He began his career at Max-Planck-Institute of Technology and Siemens Central Research in 1986

Thomas LorĂ¼nser

Chief Executive Officer

Thomas LorĂ¼nser joined the company by end of 2007 and acts as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he served as Vice President Operations at Wipro responsible for all operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before, he was Chief Financial Officer at NewLogic also managing the M&A process of the company with Wipro. Thomas had served as the assistant for economic affairs to the prime minister of the state of Vorarlberg, Austria. He began his career as a US based (Houston, Texas) project manager for the Austrian foreign office and gained experience in different consultancy firms.

Giovanni Fontana

Chief Operating Officer

Giovanni Fontana joined the company beginning of 2008 as its Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he was in charge of the Bluetooth and FM Radio programs at Infineon, Germany. He also served as Group Head of the Semiconductor IP group at Wipro and before NewLogic acquisition by Wipro, he has been managing various service and IP programs with the Austrian company. Giovanni has more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor and systems industry with leading organizations including ST Microelectronics, Philips semiconductors and Multilink.

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Pribyl

Chief Scientist

Wolfgang Pribyl joined Photeon in 2004 and is the company`s scientific advisor. He has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and technology industry in Europe and the USA, and has held various management positions in different organizations, most recently serving as Chief Technology Officer of AMS, a European ASIC and wafer foundry company. He began his career with Siemens Semiconductors in 1981 in the area of mixed signal CMOS design in Villach, Austria and also in Cupertino, USA. Wolfgang is Professor at the University of Technology in Graz, Austria and heads the Institute of Electronics.
